Guest Bios:
Chief Larry Cocco is the Deputy Fire Chief, Community Risk Reduction Division responsible for fire inspections and enforcement, fire investigations, public education and fire protection engineering at Toronto Fire Services.
Chief Steve Wilson is the Division Chief of Quality Assurance, Legal, Investigations and Engineering at Toronto Fire Services. Prior to joining Toronto Fire Services, Chief Wilson was Staff Sergeant with the South Simcoe Police where he had spent 26 years improving community safety in Bradford West Gwillimbury and Innisfil.
In this presentation, Brent covers how firefighters respond to emergencies, and what building operators and property managers can do to be prepared for when the alarm goes off.
Presenter Bio: Brent Brooks is an Acting District Chief with 30 years of services. Brent’s High Rise Unit Assignment has enabled him to enhance High-Rise Operations globally through innovative research and development.
Brent is a proponent of best practices in the fire service and has specialized in high-rise firefighting. He presently serves on various national and international committees.
Brent’s Community of Practice has a broad reach, providing lectures and hands-on training throughout Ontario, Canada, and internationally. He aims to educate the next generation of firefighters on best practices for occupant survival and firefighter safety in high-rise firefighting.
Ryan Duggan, Director of Safety and Compliance for the City of Toronto, presents the case for removing fire hoses from City buildings and why property managers should consider it, the pros and cons, and the process involved.
